Conflict Resolution

Family and couples therapy differ from individual therapy by addressing all the relationships involved and how they interact with each other. Counseling may include reviewing family roles and development, addressing family of origin issues, conflict resolution, and how other family members’ behavior affects the mental health within the couple and/or family systems.

Trauma Therapy

EMDR

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is an empirically validated psychotherapy approach that helps treat the sequelae of psychological trauma and other negative life experiences. Its ability to rapidly treat unprocessed memories of these adverse experiences decreases overall treatment time. Clinical applications of EMDR include a wide variety of psychological problems affecting clients and family members, as well as stress-induced physical disorders and medically unexplained symptoms. The therapy procedures can improve comfort levels and functionality.

What is a “Brainspot?”

“A “Brainspot” is the eye position which is related to the energetic/emotional activation of a traumatic/emotionally charged issue within the brain, most likely in the amygdala, the hippocampus, or the orbitofrontal cortex of the limbic system. Located by eye position, paired with externally observed and internally experienced reflexive responses, a Brainspot is actually a physiological subsystem holding emotional experience in memory form.” – David Grand, Ph.D.

Wellness Coaching

Helping unlock the potential in every person!

A wellness coach helps by:

  • Being a mindful listener
  • Honoring the client in the driver’s seat
  • Hearing from the client’s past success, knowing they can do it again
  • Creating lifestyle change through conversation
  • Moving the client toward action
  • Affirming the client’s strengths
  • Exploring one’s goals, motivations, and ambitions
  • Growing the mindset for change

Wellness Coaching is a fluid and multi-dimensional approach. As a wellness coach the goal is to help someone progress in the areas of life they feel stuck. In the coaching process the client is the expert in their own life. The coach listens without judgment to find the source of inspiration which helps the client develop a rich set of competencies that can help them progress.
